Good morning,

I have learned of the tragic death of five dogs in a boarding kennel in Luxembourg and I would first like to address to the families of the five deceased dogs and offer my sincere condolences.

Losing a loved one in these circumstances is a terrible ordeal to overcome and the grieving process that follows is a long but necessary process to allow you to ease your pain and find peace.

While you will always miss their physical presence, the love that united you is eternal. Because your dogs are always in your heart, in your thoughts and in the thoughts of all those who are there to support you.

If you need to talk to someone, call 45 45 45, SOS Distress listens to anyone with understanding and respect, click here for more information .

You can also call 621 633 088. This is the telephone line of our non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people who have lost a pet. We formed SOS Deuil Animal asbl this summer so we are laying the first bricks but we are already offering you attentive and free listening that can help you.

No one should have to live through such a tragedy. And no one in Luxembourg, a country that adopted an animal welfare law in 2018, should treat dogs this way.

More controls and more sanctions. Much more. And a hotline to report animal abuse, suspicious situations.

Because how did it come to this? And what really happened? Didn't anyone suspect the illegal practices of this kennel? And aren't there other kennels that have similar practices? Shouldn't we take stock of the situation and make sure that no animal and their family is ever again a victim of such horrors? Many people consider their pets as their children. What would have been done if they had been children?

I think it is time to give more consideration and attention to the issues related to animal abuse in Luxembourg.

I would now like to address my clients and tell you that my responsibility and my daily work is to anticipate all potential risks and to do everything in my power to guarantee the safety and well-being of your dogs at every moment that you entrust their care to me.

And I would like to remind you of my sincere commitment to keep my word and to take care of each dog entrusted to me as my own.

I would also like to remind you that Chez Loulou has a ministerial establishment permit (No. 10124457) as well as a dog boarding operating permit (Ref: 413-2023) issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development which you can consult on our legal notices page here.

Finally, I sincerely hope that justice will be done to the families of the five deceased dogs and that all measures will be taken to ensure that this never happens again.

Alexandra
